It seems that it is a prerequisite for upcoming Android 5.0 Lollipop update for Moto G 1st Gen devices. However, nowhere it is mentioned that when it will be available. However, now it is clear that first generation Motos will get the Lollipop. Currently, updating this application doesn’t means you can have update just now. Here are more screenshot from update.
I updated this on my Moto G 1st Gen and nothing happened. I also went to check update but nothing different was there. So, I guess we all need to wait. I suggest everyone to get this update and get in queue with little optimism.
Those who uninstalled the Motorola Update Service due to any reason (other than custom ROM) can install it from market. I am providing the untouched and unmodded apk called ‘com.motorola.ccc.ota.apk’ here,
